This Week at the Market – –
This week the Simmons Honey Ranchito has a limited supply of their sought after Mango Salsa. For those who haven’t tried it yet, it’s especially good with nachos and fajitas.  They will also have their usual honey products, jams, jellies, and relishes. Ancestral Herbals has a new soap with moon and stars glow in the dark accents, also available is their pain cream, muscle rub, and specialty soaps.  If you are looking for fresh milk and dairy products, Golden Rule Dairy will have their fresh raw milk and cream. They are there every week so make sure to stop by and get Cochise County’s freshest milk and cream.  San Ysidro Farms is back this week and they are well stocked with beef, goat , and lamb, as well as pork chops – all naturally grass fed on their ranch. Don’t forget their pasties, if you are looking for a hearty lunch.
Donna at the information booth will have salad mix, red and green lettuce, chard, spinach, and radishes. Backyard Gardening & Growing just harvested their green and purple kohlrabi as well as red and golden beets, collards, kale, and Swiss chard. Local mesquite flour and recipes how to use it are at their booth as well.

Warmer weather and longer days have chickens laying more eggs. Make sure to stop at one of our egg vendors to get your fresh eggs. McDonald Farms, Ruth’s Garden, Simmons Honey Ranchito, Mustang Mountain Eggs, Backyard Gardening & Growing, and Thunder Mountain Alpaca Ranch will all have eggs this week.

Arevalos Farms  and CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
Arevalos Farms is starting their CSA program in May, so come by their booth and learn about their exciting plans to provide a subscription based weekly food program to Cochise County and surrounding areas. For those who don’t know, briefly a CSA is like purchasing a food subscription to a farm. You pay at the beginning of the season and then every week during that season you receive a selection of the freshest local organic produce from their farm.

This week at the market Arevalos Farms will have beets, potatoes, kohlrabi, and greens. They also bring pickles and pickled okra to the market every week.

Dolce Amore and Ginny’s Eclectic Kitchen will return to the market this week. That means delicious Italian pastries and cakes from Teresa’s kitchen and yummy sour dough and brownies from Ginny’s.

McDonald Farm’ Donna has her usual specialties: lemon bars, scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, 7-nut bars, and freshly shelled pecans.
