Artisan Thursday – –
It’s the first Thursday of the month once again and that means we welcome back to the Sierra Vista Farmers Markets some of the most talented artisans in our area. Oh, we’ll still have the freshest and tastiest produce you’ll find in Cochise County, but we’re adding a little excitement and creativity with our increased hand-made treasures. Whether it is hand-made aprons and bags,  beautifully crafted woodwork, or intricately designed jewelry, you’ll probably find it at the market this week.  Stop by and say hi to our great artisan vendors and admire their great talent.

$100 Farmers Market Like and Comment Contest
Artisan Thursday also means that we will be giving away another $100.00 in Farmers Market Bucks this week. Last month we had an awesome response -nearly 100 of you liked our contest post and 69 of you told us what you liked about the market.  Thank you all, for letting us know how much you like the Sierra Vista Farmers Market.

For your chance to win this week, please visit our facebook page at www.facebook.com/sierravistafarmersmarket/ and simply like our contest post page and tell us one thing you like about the Sierra Vista Farmers Market or tells one new product you’d like to see at the market. This Week At the Market

Agricultural and Produce Vendors

White Cane Salmon
This is the last week Randy with White Cane Salmon will be at the market for this season. Poor guy has to go spend the summer fishing in Alaska to restock his supply.  Randy has limited supply of smoked salmon and salmon filets.

Ancestral Herbals
Ancestral Herbals has a new lotion refill station.  Now you can bring your previously purchased plastic bottles and refill for $1.30 per oz or bring your own clean bottles as well. Julee will also bring her usual soaps, and pain relief creams.

Simmons Honey Ranchito
Seasonal Mesquite Honey is like Desert Wildflower is available at Simmons Honey Ranchito booth this week.  Need a dab of honey on the go? Their small honey stix (Honey in a Sealed Plastic Straw) and their mini 2oz Honey Bears are a great way to carry honey with you wherever you go. The Simmons also have fresh made Jams, Jellies, and Preserves to choose from. Their Strawberry Rhubarb Jam is a big favorite this time of the year. Jacob Simmons cut up a fresh batch of very early spring honey comb for this week’s market.  The honey has a unique flavor because it comes from the nectar gathered from the Rattle Pod & Spring Tallow Weed that carpeted the valley floor earlier this month.

Ruth’s Garden
Now is the time to get those plant starts into the ground. Ruth has the following: both bell pepper (green & red) and hot pepper varieties, cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, pumpkins, Dilicatda Sweet Dumpling, and Kabota squash. Ruth also has  a large variety of perennials, scented geraniums in gallon pots, herbs in small pots. And just in case you didn’t know, Ruth carries organic fertilizers to feed those heavy feeders (plants).

Just-A-Pinch
Mike with Just-A-Pinch harvests fresh culinary herbs for you right at the market or you can take home a healthy small plant. There is cilantro, thyme, oregano, and many varieties of mint to choose from.
